A Governor in Taxman’s Clothing

Well, Governor Jodi Rell tried to slip one through on the Connecticut taxpayer. A minor raise of the state income tax. Hmmm, I don’t remember hearing this when she was running for re-election. She did make sure she got her point across that property taxes would be removed. Let’s see, payment of the property tax is once a year. Increase in the state income tax is any where from twice a month to once a week. Fair trade off?? It’s ironic that she was complaining about the electric rates rising like they were, how these need to be held down. I guess I can see why now.

I remember John Roland was running for re-election in 2000 doing the same thing. Big surplus, things are going great. Then, right after the election, the deficit hit like a surprise blizzard. We’re buried under this debt and need to raise taxes. What happened to cause this in a matter of weeks? I guess the apple doesn’t fall to far from the tree!

I guess now when politicians run, we ask them what are they plans for the future and what surprises do you have in store for us!

Connecticut Taxpayers – we need to fight this. There is plenty of other areas that can be looked at to CUT other than RAISING taxes. CL&P has raised their rates as of January 1st will review that again in June. Spring is coming and you know gas will be skyrocketing.

If this keeps up, Connecticut will be known as the Pass Through State. Everything will be too expensive and people will just pass through to get where they are going.
