America's New Terror

We can forget about Al Qaeda now and worry about our new terror - the Bush Administration and the $700 Billion bailout. Listening to Paulsen and Bernake if we don't act RIGHT NOW we are going to see credit tighten so much that jobs will be lost, business will cease and Armageddon will be upon us.

Somebody needs to explain to me that what the rush is about? Let's get the damn thing right! We, the taxpayers, are about to have another
proctology exam given to us and we're suppose to rush thriugh this? I don't want this to be a permanent one! This is nothing but another bail out for corruption. That is why Wall Street is waiting, they want to see if this will be hung around their neck. Chicken Little in the White house isn't helping saying 'The shy is falling and it won't stop if we don't pass this'. He hasn't gotten the war right, what makes him right about this?

The people who pay their takes, pay their mortgages, play by the rules are really going to get pissed off soon. We are the camel's back and we're only one or two straws from breaking. As Peter Finch said in Network, "Everybody stand up, open your window and scream 'We're mad as hell and we're not going to take it anymore!'"

What Is Our Society Coming To?

You've got to be kidding me! Every time I think we can't raise the level of stupidity, we out do ourselves! The lunacy in the Jericho Scott case that he can't pitch because he is too good is absurd! Here is a GIFTED 9 year old kid who can pitch in the 8-10 year old league has been told he cannot play because "he might hurt someone". WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Have we evolved into a cry baby society? Why should Jericho be punished? It sounds like there are more kids who can't play the game and now it needs to be dummied down for them.

If the other coaches and parents are that worried, get your kids to practice more! Jericho's pitching will push these other kids to practice harder thus raising their game. But nooooooooooooooooooooooo, we don't want to do that. We want to make it easier on the kids, let's not them try as hard. So instead of making kid's work hard and excel, here is what the league will
do: "Officials for the thre e-year-old league, which has eight teams and about 100 players, said they will disband Jericho's team, redistributing its players among other squads, and offered to refund $50 sign-up fees to anyone who asks for it." (SI Online "Nine-year-old told he's too good - MLB -

Did they think how this would make Jericho feel? When asked, he said "I feel sad," he said. "I feel like it's all my fault nobody could play." This is the way we're supposed to encourage kids to play? How many kids has he hit? Zip, zero, nada, zilch! The attorney for the league, Peter Noble, has agreed that he hasn't hit anyone. So what's the issue? Quoting Noble, "Facing that kind of speed" is frightening for beginning players." THEN DON'T PLAY! This guy ought to have a field day with junior football. Can you imagine saying this to Babe Ruth?

It's time to get real. This is sports and sports have contact. You get hit, get up, rub some dirt on it and play. If you're that worried, don't play!
